Intro: [D] [C] x2
[D] Lady, when you're with me I'm [C] smiling,
[D] Give me, oh-all, oh-all, oh-all your [C] love.
[D] Your hands, build me up when I'm [C] sinking,
Just [D] touch me, and my troubles all [G] fade. [Bb] [A]
[D] Lady, from the moment I [C] saw you,
[D] Standing, oh-all, oh-all, oh-all a- [C] lone.
[D] You gave, all the love that I [C] needed,
[D] So shy, like a child who had [G] grown.
Chorus:
[1:] [2:] [Bb] You're [A] my, [3:] [D] lady, of the [C] morning,
[D] Love shines, in your [C] eye...-eye-eyes.
[D] Sparkling, clear and [C] lovely,
You're my, ([3:] [Bb] [A]) [D] lady. [1:] [2:] [Bb] [A]
[D] Lady, turn me in when I'm [C] lonely,
[D] Show me, all, oh-all, oh-all your [C] charms.
[D] Evenings, when you lay down be- [C] side me,
Just [D] take me, gently into your [G] arms.
Chorus x2

About this song: Lady
In 1972 Denise wrote this love ballad for his wife, Suzanne. Styx was signed to a small record label called Wooden Nickel when they first released this in 1973. It didn't get much promotion and went nowhere, until a radio station in Chicago, WLS, received constant requests for "Lady", and the program director vowed to play the song every night until it became a hit. January 1975, two years after its first release, "Lady" entered the Billboard Top 40, where it peaked at #6 and propelled STYX II to gold record status.
