It sounds much better on the "vacancy signs" line if you add a Csus4 before the C. Also, I recommend the D-DU strumming pattern for this one.

Strumming pattern us DDUUDU except for the quick changes at the end of two lines in the chorus which is two down strums on each chord (on 'satisfied' and 'embarks'. The F Am should be F C and the Dm Am shoudl be Dm F.

I dont' use a strum pattern for this song. Use fingerpicking (one finger per string) to play 1(top)-2-3-4-pause-2-3-4-etc.It's a little more challenging to play but it's worth it.

I love this song and I play it all the time. Tip: if you add a C7 at the "signs" lyric it sounds better

Chords are spot on for sure! Small issue where the chord changes don't line up with the words. Listen to the song for where to switch

Love this tab. Just started playing the uke and this was a great beginner song that was incredibly easy to play and figure out. I used D-DU-UDU strumming pattern; that sounds best to me.

About this song: I Will Follow You Into The Dark
"I Will Follow You Into the Dark" is the third single from Death Cab for Cutie's album Plans. It's an acoustic ballad performed solo, by frontman Ben Gibbard. It was recorded with a single microphone, and there is no overdubbing in the song. It was released as a single in the UK as a two-part 7" single (one on green vinyl, the other on "mustard" colored vinyl) and as a CD single. The I Follow You Into The Dark Songfacts states that Gibbard told VH1's Storytellers that Gibbard penned the song in a burst of creativity in 15 miniutes at a Seattle studio, which he kept solely for songwriting.
