"Angel" reached number one in the U.S. for the week of 31 March 2001. The song uses the bassline from "The Joker" by Steve Miller (1973), and also borrows from "Angel of the Morning," written by Chip Taylor and best known by the singer Merrilee Rush. The music video was directed by Cameron Casey.
