About this song: Samson

Two different versions of Samson exist. The first, slightly longer, version appeared on the album Songs. The second, and more famous, version was the third track on Begin to Hope. The song tells the story of a previously undocumented relationship between the narrator and the biblical Samson. Spektor, as the narrator, engages in a relationship bordering on sadism as Samson wilfully subjugates himself to her, allowing her to cut his hair (and hence drain his strength).
