"Stand by Me" was written by Ben E. King, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Released in 1961, it reached #4 in the US charts and #27 in the UK. In 1986 it was re-released due to its use as the theme song for the movie of the same name and also in an advertisement for Levi Jeans. The re-release reached #9 in the US and #1 in the UK.
