[D D]I'd buy a big [Em7 Em7]house where [G G]we both could [A A]live

[D D]If I was a [G G]sculptor, but[A A] then ag[F#m F#m]ain no

[D D]I sat on the [G G]roof [A A] and kicked off the [F#m F#m]moss
[Bm Bm]Well a few of the [Bm/A Bm/A]verses, well [Bm/Ab Bm/Ab]they've got me quite [G G]cross
[D D]But the sun's been quite [A A]kind, while I [F# F#]wrote this [Bm Bm]song
[D D]It's for people like [Em7 Em7]you that [G G]keep turned [A A]on

[D D]So excuse me [G G]forgetting, [A A] but these things I [F#m F#m]do
[Bm Bm]You see I've for[Bm/A Bm/A]gotten if they're [Bm/Ab Bm/Ab]green or they're [G G]blue
[D D]Anyway, the [A A]thing is, [F# F#]what I really [Bm Bm]mean
[D D]Yours are the [Em7 Em7]sweetest eyes [G G]I've ever [D D]seen
-----------------------------------------------------------------
[Chorus]
[A A]And you can tell [Bm Bm]everybody [Em7 Em7]this is your [G G]song

I [Bm Bm]hope you don't mind, I [Bm/A Bm/A]hope you don't mind
[Bm/Ab Bm/Ab]That I put down in [G G]words,
How [D D]wonderful [Em Em]life is while [G G]you're [A A]in the [D D]world

About this song: Your Song

"Your Song" is a ballad composed and performed by musician Elton John. The song's lyrics were written by Bernie Taupin. According to the Your Song Songfacts, he wrote them over breakfast at John's parents' house, where he was living. The original lyrics have coffee stains on them. It appeared on John's self-titled second album in 1970. The song was released in the U.S. in October 1970 as the B-side to "Take Me to the Pilot". Both received airplay, but "Your Song" was preferred by disc jockeys and replaced "Take Me to the Pilot" as the A-side, eventually making both the UK and U.
