for the first verse I pluck the third string and then the other three at the same time for each chord ad them pick it up with dduudu until "does my pen only write bitter words" where I go back to the plucking and then back to dduudu for the last part after "ill leave you be"

I use the strumming pattern DDUUDU
OR
Slap after every chord.
I also find that it sounds better with Am and G after the end of the first two lines of each verse

when I was playing it added a slap after every chord not directly above a word. Hope this helped.

learning this just to creep my brother out? you know it! also vv good, easy to pick up and play. and does anyo have any good ideas for strumming patterns? I have been using ddu but i was wondering if anyone has any better ideas

I just picked up my ukulele for the first time since i was five a couple months ago and this song is so perfect for beginners
